6. How many people are involved in the current redistricting process?

The governor, legislative leaders in the Assembly and State Senate, and the chairpersons of the Assembly and State Senate redistricting committees currently control the process. Those persons or organizations with enough power to influence any of those individuals also can gain access to the process. There is currently no requirement for any hearings outside of Sacramento.
